AdWords for Real Estate Agents

As a real estate agent, you want to position yourself and your business in a manner that lets you reach more clients for you to increase your success rates. Real estate business is booming right now in the world but as an agent, it can be really tedious trying to land clients and convincing them that your facility is the best for them. The levels of competition in the field are also tremendously high. Unless the piece of property is posh enough to attract clients on its own, you have to be extremely hardworking and rigorous in your marketing to land enough clients to keep your business going.

The search and hunt for houses and real estate property has almost migrated online. Besides the reconnaissance and inspection visits, most of the hunting and searching is done online. As a real estate agent therefore, you need to brace yourself for this reality. You have to be keen in marketing your business online to ensure that you are reaching the millions searching for properties online. When we are talking about online marketing, there are a handful of mechanisms that you can apply to bolster your business. Very few however are as easy to use and effective as pay per click ads and Adwords to be a little specific. Google Adwords allows you as a real estate agent to create ads that will appear on the search engine and let the clients see them. They are really effective and will help you move your business ahead.

To help you get started with Adwords as a real estate agent, we have compiled a list of 12 Adwords tips for starters. Here are the 12 Adwords tips for real estate agents;

1. Include ad extensions

As a real estate agent, you will most probably be focussing on a local group of consumers. You will be targeting a certain geographical area and the best way to maximize is to include extensions in your ads. By this I mean phone numbers and addresses. They really work wonders.

2. Landing Page

As a real estate agent, you need to come up with a good landing page that the visitors will land on after clicking on your ads. People need a landing page that is easy to navigate and has all the information that they are looking for. It is advisable to hire web experts to help design a web page for you to help you funnel the visits into sales.

3. Strategically place call to action

A call to action is a message asking a client or a visitor to do something which in this case should be rent an apartment or buy your property. Other call to action messages that you can use in your website include contact us, subscribe to our newsletter or join our mailing list. Make sure your call to action messages are strategically placed for people to easily see them.

5. Research your keywords properly

When creating ads for your business, you need to have an idea of what most real estate clients look for. What are some of the most common keywords? What do most people type in the search box when looking for apartments? Research and come up with a comprehensive list of the most common keywords and use them in your ads.

6. Make good use of ad groups

In Adwords, you can break down your ads into specific groups. As a real estate agent, you could probably be dealing with different types of properties or properties in different cities. For easier monitoring, break the ads into various groups. You will be able to determine the ads doing well and those lagging behind in your campaign.

7. Long tail or short tail keywords?

As a marketer myself, I have been a big fan of long tail keywords. In recent years though, due to increased numbers of related business online, they tend to attract unwanted traffic. They cover keywords which are used in other businesses as well and a good number of visitors to your website will be irrelevant therefore. Short tail keywords bring about more precision but you need to come up with tons of them to cover all areas of your business.

8. Geographical enhancements of ads

You can modify your ads to target a certain geographical area for better returns. If you are a real estate agent in Texas for example, it would be useless for a person in India to see your ads. Choosing to target the locals of Texas however, will increase your chances of getting more clients.

9. Responsive pages

Most people use their mobile devices to access the internet today and this means that a good number of people looking for property online will do so from a mobile device. Make sure that your website is responsive has a seamless interface on all mobile devices if you are to make the most from Adwords.

10. Bid adjustments will help you greatly

Bid adjustments will let you increase or decrease your bids for you to exploit the areas of opportunity in your account. They include location and time bid adjustments.

12. Consider hiring an agency

If you probably don’t want to do all the work by yourself and want someone else to do it on your behalf, consider hiring a marketing agency to help you with the Adwords marketing. They know about the right techniques and mechanisms to use and will help you get the most out of your real estate business.
